The PCRMM is delighted to announce that Louise Warburton, Co-President of the Primary Care Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine Society (PCRMM), has been honoured with the prestigious “Gold Changemaker” award. The award recognises Louise’s contributions to improving the lives of those affected by axial SpA, enabling better access to appropriate treatment earlier and helping the NHS to become a global leader in axial spondyloarthritis service delivery.
Louise Warburton, a fervent advocate for the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS), expressed her gratitude for the award. She emphasized the urgent need to address the diagnostic delay, which currently stands at 8.5 years in the UK. NASS has been actively campaigning to reduce this delay, and Louise has played a significant role in supporting their cause.
In her capacity as Co-President of PCRMM, Louise has tirelessly worked to raise awareness about axial spondyloarthritis, involving NASS in various conferences, presentations, and webinars.
Louise Warburton also serves as the Research Principal Investigator for ShropCom (Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust), actively participating in studies that shed light on spondyloarthritis, such as the Pro-Spirit study, contributing to the understanding and management of these conditions.
The “Gold Changemaker” award acknowledges Louise’s commitment to advancing rheumatological care, and we congratulate Louise on this well-deserved recognition.
