Benefits of PCRMM membership
The PCRMM welcomes all doctors and all allied health professionals of all grades, including trainees, who are involved in the care of patients with rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions in primary care.
The PCRMM provides the primary care team perspective and voice. We understand the challenges of delivering good quality patient care in the high pressure primary care environment.
Our aims are to
- Improve knowledge of musculoskeletal & rheumatology disorders in primary care
- Improve & maintain standards of care provided for patients
- Develop educational standards for providers of musculoskeletal medicine & rheumatology
- Build effective partnerships with other providers of musculoskeletal & rheumatology care
- Participate in guideline and service development to ensure the primary care perspective is heard
- Support research into MSK and rheumatological conditions
Provide support and mentorship for those primary care clinicians wishing to develop a special interest or extended role.
Support
We are a friendly society connecting like-minded primary care clinicians able to offer much needed support in the challenging clinical environment.
CPD
Improve your diagnostic skills and management of the many rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions presenting to primary care. Members are entitled to discounts on PCRMM educational events and conferences which count towards CPD and appraisal.
Education
PCRMM members have access to state of the art prosthetic limbs for practicing and teaching joint and soft tissue injections.
Help with clinical dilemmas
Our friendly and experienced members are happy to share their clinical expertise.
Career advice
We are happy to advise on courses and career pathways for primary care clinicians keen on developing a special interest in rheumatology or musculoskeletal medicine.
Research
We have links with Keele University and can offer advice to those with an interest in becoming involved in rheumatology and MSK research.
Influence guidelines and policy
PCRMM works with external organisation e.g. NICE and ARMA to provide the primary care perspective for guideline and policy development in rheumatology and musculoskeletal medicine. No other society uniquely represents primary care in this sphere.
Influence career development
PCRMM is involved in helping promote the future roles of doctors, physiotherapists and allied health professions in rheumatology and MSK provision in primary care.
