New announcement from JCVI on people who are severely immunosuppressed and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. This is recommending a third dose as part of the primary vaccination, at least 8 weeks after the second dose. Others will get a third booster dose when the booster programme is rolled out.

Looking at the definition of severely immunosuppressed this will include some people with inflammatory conditions who were on a range of immunosuppressing treatment within 3 months (or in some cases 6 months) of their vaccination. For the detail of who is included, see points 2, 3 and 4 of the notes to editors.
